How it started
K.B Cerrano was getting ready to release the first book in Space Asylum, his sci-fi comic series. He needed a website where readers could meet the world of the series and see his whole catalogue in one place before the book came out.
The problem
The first Space Asylum book was about to be released, and the series had no home online. Readers had nowhere to discover its world, preview the comics, find where to buy the books or pick up merchandise.
What we did
- 1.Built a full website that introduces the world of Space Asylum and showcases the comic catalogue.
- 2.Built a comic reader into the site, so readers can preview the books before they buy.
- 3.Added swipe gestures to turn pages on a phone, plus single-page and two-page spread views.
- 4.Linked each book to Amazon and set up merchandise orders on the site.
- 5.Added reviews, links to his social media and pages for exploring the world of the story.
- 6.Styled the whole site in the comic's own colours, so it feels like the series.
- 7.Optimized it for speed, with comic pages that load quickly and stay sharp.
What changed for the client
Readers have one place to discover Space Asylum, preview the comics and follow through to buy: the books on Amazon, the merchandise on the site. It was ready before the first book came out, and it looks and feels like the comic itself.

- Comics to preview on the site, with swipe-to-turn pages on a phone
- Books ordered through Amazon, merchandise ordered on the site
